Getting Started: What You Need to Play

What you need to play. Brain not included. For starters, you will of course need The Triune Legacy: Core Book! You may buy a card copy or, for a limited time, download a free PDF version of the Core Book. We will be releasing more source books in the near future that will provide further details about this world, so check this site often for news about those! Other than the book, you will need the tabletop RPG basics.

A pencil and paper to record information about their character and the world that the character inhabits, locations visited, items obtained, and people met. Games like this are about accomplishment and it is the character that allows the player to accomplish things within the created world. Pencils are preferable to pens because they can be erased and characters in games such as this are not static – they grow, change, and evolve, all things that players need to keep track of while playing. Tip: Write down everything!

Dice are also a necessity. This game requires two 10-sided die (d10) and several 6-sided die (d6) – a dozen should do, though some might prefer to have more available. Six sided die are easily obtainable from a variety of places. Within this game is an element of chance – a capacity for randomness that the dice represent.

Finally, the one thing that all players need to play this game is imagination. The world conjured and described in this book is entirely fictional, existing only in the minds of those that are playing it. The characters, locations, and events are purely fictional. The game itself is an interactive story, a chance for players to interact in an epic way with a world that mirrors the real one (without, you know, being real).
